This past week my friends and I went to London, England. We flew across the pond on Virgin Atlantic airlines.
I have flown on Virgin before, I think it was like 7 years ago. I was curious to see if the quality of their service had changed.
I am happy to report, they still have excellent customer service and had smooth sailing during the flight.
Our flight departed Boston at 7:45pm. We boarded almost an hour before departure. We were sitting in row 43. Once we boarded there were a couple empty seats so we were able to move our seats and spread out. The flight attendants were friendly and very helpful. Once the Captain turned off the seat belt signs the flight attendants went to work. They were walking up and down the aisles with head phones, then they handed out Virgin goodie bags. (tooth brush, tooth paste, eye cover, frequent travel card, bright red socks and a little change envelopes so you could donate your spare change) Then came the drink cart. I was surprised that they offered free alcohol. Then dinner was passed out. I was amazed that the food was actually good. During the flight, the F. A.’s walked around with beverages. Before we landed they handed out muffins and juice.
Our flight home was great as well. LHR (London Heathrow) is a huge airport. They have an amazing duty free shopping area. The gates numbers were not given out until an hour before the flight. Once our gate was listed we walked to our gate. As soon as we sat at our gate, the began to board the plane. My main dish was not as good as the meal I had when we flew over. But the side items were delicious. During the flight, the F.A.’s passed out ice cream bars. I thought was so great. Then a couple hours later, you were given a choice of a cookie or a brownie. We got a fun goodie bag on the return flight as well.
